A screen capture and annotation tool for Windows.
I built CapChief as a small, standalone Windows app for capturing and annotating your screen. Select a region instantly or after a countdown, then add arrows, boxes, text, numbered steps, or mosaic and blackout redactions. When you're done, copy the result to your clipboard or save it as a PNG.
You can also record a region as a GIF, trim the beginning and end, and adjust the playback speed before saving. I wrote CapChief in C#, compiled it with NativeAOT, and built the entire interface directly with Win32 and GDI+. Everything runs from a single native executable, with no WPF, WinForms, or .NET runtime required. I've published the source on GitHub under the MIT license.
